Episode 7: Ukraine in Crisis Part 1 - The One Man NATO Expansion Machine
Friday Apr 08, 2022
Friday Apr 08, 2022
The world is at an inflection point. The largest military conflict in Europe since World War II is ongoing. Ukraine is fighting for its existence as NATO members watch Russia commit acts of aggression and crimes against humanity, fighting the new Kremlin indirectly through covert arms exchanges and crippling sanctions. But why is this war happening now? One of Vladimir Putin's grievances is that NATO expansion has caused a new cold war.
In this special episode, we take a look back at the fall of the Soviet Union and how critical players, including Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and every administration since George H.W. Bush's made moves that may have set us on the course of nuclear annihilation. However, one man, in particular, did more than anyone in the short history of this story, making war profiteers, arms makers, and stockholders as rich as humanly possible, and I can almost guarantee you've never heard of him. Tune in and find out about the person we call "The One Man NATO Expansion Machine."

Ep. 5: Jake Mullins and the Future of U.S. Real Estate
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
The United States has a housing crisis. It isn’t 2008, and this crisis is new and silent. The US is in need of roughly 3.8 million to 5.5 million housing units. Worse yet, it isn’t economically feasible for developers to build homes for low- and moderate-income families and first-time homebuyers, and it’s causing rents to go sky high. What was once the American Dream may now be the National nightmare.
Jake Mullins to join me. Jake is the founder and host of the hit podcast Beer and Business, but what makes him uniquely qualified to speak on the subject is that he owns one of the top real estate teams in the Atlanta area, and as you’ll find out, he’ll teach us why we’re here and what the future looks like. He also has some sound advice on how your home can make money for you.

Episode 4: Ben Neil Overcomes his Dark Night of the Soul
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
In 2009, Ben Neil came face to face with his own "Dark Night of the Soul," enduring grief and guilt associated with the loss of his business and loved ones, and the mental anguish that comes from these life experiences he wondered if life was worth living. To pick himself up, Ben became an avid student, spending nearly a decade reading more than 1,000 books on various subjects all related to the mind. His learning and experiences led him to do something he had never considered before; writing a novel. That in itself was a journey, and Ben will get into some of that in the episode, but when it's all said and done, Ben Neil wrote his first novel, The Initiate, which correlates to Ben's journey in a very metaphorical sense.
A very good listen for lovers of Philosophy.

About The With Jay Burke Show
We live in an amazing age, even if we fail to know it. Anything you want to know, want to see, want to look deeper at, or listen to is at your fingertips for the simple fact it’s there…but we appear more confused than ever. The clatter, the commotion, the pull of the world around us trying to take us in whatever direction it wants. It’s difficult to know where to go, and who to trust. Sometimes, it’s just difficult to have some fun with what’s going on out there.
My name is Jason Burke, and though, I’m technically the host of this podcast, it’s the guests who truly take top billing. This is a place for curious minds who enjoy civil and sometimes meandering conversation. If you appreciate a few laughs and want to come away with new knowledge or a simple understanding of subjects that aren’t always easy to break down, you’re the person I want listening to this podcast.
Join me as we cut through the noise and chaos using experts, educators, authors, influencers, friends, fellow podcasters, people from all walks of life, and sometimes my magical google powers to get to the bottom of a diverse range of topics, both big and small, exciting and mundane, or simply just because we want to know.
Some episodes may cover the big questions of public policy, the profound meditations of philosophy, the wonders of science, or the intricacies of everyday existence, While other episodes may take a light approach to cover sports topics, pop culture happenings, strange facts or fictions. Nothing is off the table. It won’t always be a straight line, but take the journey and escape for a while for thoughtful excursions into the world of ideas across media, politics, technology, pop culture, and all realms of civic life.
